Triple option switch.

Great site and excellent drills. Easy to understand and apply in training....

DESCRIPTION

This attack play works by concentrating manpower on one gap and overwhelminmg the defence to create line breaks of short ball. This play could go three ways.

  1. The first man will run a switch with the second, therefore knocking out the second defensive man as the second offensive man engages with the first defensive man in contact.
  2.  The second offensive man may want to pop the ball to the third offensive man in the same gap, therfore knocking out the first offensive man, and leaving a space for the third offensive man.
  3. The first offensive man may want to use the second offensive man as a dummy run, and switch it with third offensive man instead, creating the same situation as the previous.

The fualt of this is that if the third defensive man has pace he could run back and make a cover tackle.
