Passing - Deconstructed Basics

DESCRIPTION

Goal is to revisit passing habits by breaking down the pass and 'walking' through. 

  • Players complete 10-25 passess each side to partner
  1. one hand pass
  2. two hand pass
  3. two hand pass walking
  4. Repeat at 10M distance

Have players make 1/2 passes with inside foot forward and vice versa. Ask them which is more comfortable, which has more accuracy/power - self discovery goes a long way. 

Can progress with wieghted balls, different balls (tennis, soccer, etc. ) just for fun...

COACHING POINTS

  • Follow through (point to target)
  • hips square 
  • hands are out, ready to recieve
  • Coach is relentless on basics follow through - especially on footwork after players figured out footing.
