Developing footwork and exploading forward when landing.
1. Make 2 gates 3m wide with 1m inbetween them.
2. 3m in front of the gates line 3 cones down in a line.
3. Players then stand with a ball each 2m away from the 3 cones.
4. Holding the ball in both hands, the player runs up to barrier and jumps over the barrier landing 2 feet.
5. Once landing on both feet, the attacker then pushes off and sprints through either left or right gate.
ADVANCING DRILL
- Add a player to the the 1m channel get them to call "left or right" as the player jumps over barrier.
- Then stop them from speaking and get them to turn to face either left right as player jumps.
- Then make them live so they have to try and ctouch them but staying in the 1m channel.
- Then get defender to face other way. the player runs and jumps as they jump you call "turn" and they have to turn round and choose either left or right gate and attacker has to turn.
