DESCRIPTION

Scrumhalf pass to 1st player

1st player (ball carrier) rounds the cone and makes contact

1st 2 supporters (cleaners) round the cone and clean away defenders

3rd supporter (sealer) seals over the ball

COACHING POINTS

BALL CARRIER:

present the ball quickly in the direction of team mates (as far away from the opposition as possible)

CLEANERS

maintain a low, strong, stable body position throughout the ruck.
Head and shoulders must be above the hips at all times
Join the ruck in a legal manner (from behind the foot of the hindmost team mate in the ruck)
should drive beyond the ball to make it more readily available

SEALER

low body position over the ball
grab hold of the ball carrier
head up and hips down
be aware that may need to clear out any potential threats to the ball
