Heather, Rugby Coach

DESCRIPTION

Area 20m wide set up inside 22m

6 D and 8 A wait outside area until they are told to enter by coach

D defend off the ruck with ABC

A set up attack from ruck, ball does not have to be secured

Full contact, play until try, turnover, mistake

COACHING POINTS

We are in the RED ZONE, so ball retention is number 1 priority

Think about how we can get go forward ball - 2nd pass, latch and drive, pick and go. Must retain ball!

Wait for dominant ball carry, then quick clearout, fast ball - attack now takes ball flat to the gain line with aggression - aim is to beat D in to the space behind and make them tackle whilst going backwards
