DESCRIPTION

The defender is in a bear crawl position Attacker starts three yards opposite and slowly moves side to side.The defender must mirror in bear crawl position and attacker picks up ball and runs to a side of defender who makes low tackle.

COACHING POINTS

  • Defender must keep a strong back in the bear crawl position
  • Once attacker picks up the ball the defender stays low and drives the shoulder into the thighs of the defender
  • Defender wraps both arms around the legs, squeeze tight to make a 'ring of steel'
