DESCRIPTION

  1. Set up two boxes for a 4v1 or 5 v1 (depending on group size numbers) - ensure there is enough space between two boxes
  2. Aim of drill is to play keepie off from the one defender in the middle.
  3. Players the outside of box can only move up and down perimeter of the box (Use analogy of a train - cannot move off railway line)
  4. Try to reach a certain number of passes depending on skill level.
  5. Introduce different restraints depending on the skill level and age of group.
  • Restraint Ideas: reverse receives, bouncy balls, two-touches, one-time pass, not back to same player)
  • If group is skilful, may also be able to add another defender

COACHING POINTS

  • Focus on stick on ball and staying down low
  • Knowing your next pass
  • Disguising where you are passing too (wrist passes)
  • Work rate and good footwork to make yourself available on passing channel for player with ball
