General:
- OPA- One Play ahead, anticipate what is going to happen and be ready for it
- Fight: If there is a turnover, react quickly and get the ball back
Outletters:
-PTM: Err on the side of caution; back your mate up (anticipate danger)
-Play wide: Keep the ball out of the danger zone (middle of the field in our own 25)
- Talk: Working together to transition into attack works better when the talk is up
- 4 across the back: RB or LB (WOB) creating angle to make passes wide
- BS Back option: ensure you are far enough back to be a low risk option
- HS Back Transition into attack: Can push slightly forward if enough angle and your Striker is not in dangerous position (PTM)
- Pass and Move – Adjust so the person WB has an option (don’t get pinned to baseline)
- Mids and Strikers use space and work with each other
Offensive Press:
-Positions Early: React, Get Back and Set up Quickly (Everyone’s Responsibility)
-Talk: Communication is critical to forcing them where we want them
- Want it: Look like you want it (stick down) not through you (we want it back!)
- Make the W: See Purple line on left -Make the Diamond: See Orange Line on left
- Force them to their Left: Cut off their options to the right, then apply the Clamp
- Box them In: Any Hit in Red Area in the corners go the Clamp
- On turnover: move it quicklyto get outcome (PCA or Goal) ; pass to another striker or away from congestion
