The objective is to get the ball around all four corners and then the corner becomes the possession of that team. When a team goes around a corner, they then own the corner by placing their colour cone over their opponents.
This is a multi-directional game. The goals for the game can be adjusted to suit the coaching objectives e.g. channelling; block tackling; identifying overload; pre-scanning; ball carrying position; 2 v 1.
This game should run alongside a simple drill so that every now and then the game can be stopped and the drill can be practiced. The drill could be a 2 v 1 exercise to suit to 2 v 1 objective in the game.
Pitch size depends on the number of players. Use 8 per quarter where possible.
Allow players to identify the most efficient way to score themselves (depending on level). Hopefully they identify that passing in and passing out is the most efficient. This requires the non-ball carrying players to take up the necessary field positions quickly to allow for the best possible passing channels.
