The Hockey Skills Course, is designed to teach/coach individuals on the basic skills and techniques required in the game of hockey. To asses players Ball/stick control and there agility (To be able to move your body quickly in different directions)
Objective:
Using the basic techniques and the individuals agility, to perform and get around the course efficiently and effectively.
Ball/stick control and body position are key.
This course is operated by time. (Coaches discretion)
Scoring:
Scores are tallied after each station is complete i.e as many Indian dribbles in a minute e.g (10pts = 10 Indian dribbles) Points are also accumulated for certain stations, mainly your hitting and push passing stations.
Progression:
The course can be adjusted, to accommodate beginner/intermediates and advanced players by altering the time given at each discipline, as well as the difficulty level of each station.
Assessment:
An Assessment is introduced and implemented after each week is completed, giving the individual a score which is then totaled and divided by the number of weeks, to give the individual an overall average for the term in the skills course.
