2 defenders (blue) are passed the ball to begin the exercise. They are aiming to play the ball through one of 2 small gates at the opposite end of the playing area.
4 attackers aim to work together to tackle the defenders and score a goal against a goalkeeper.
Defenders rotate with ball distributor. A new attacking 4 are ready to alternate.
- Exercise simulates a high-pressing defence from the front.
- Defenders are disadvantaged in number and by bottleneck in playing area. Attackers need to be decisive in recognising defensive weakness and work in a pack to take advantage.
- Don't allow two of the attackers to be "passive" when pressing. All 4 should be participating in the press.
