DESCRIPTION

Exercise 1 - Drag Flick Basics (Sleeppush)

Here the children will practice the basics of the dragflick, they will start low and come close to the ground and step through the ball and push it against the back net. The running does not need to be practised yet.

  • Step far with the left foot and dip low close to the ground, move the ball from your back floor to your front foot.
  • Once the ball is by the front foot rotate the body to create speed and learn backwards to create lift.

(For those who are finding it hard to create lift they can use the drag-flicking tables)

Exercise 2 - Injecting (Aangaven)

Here the children will learn the principles of injecting towards the baseline, they will have lots of balls and keep injecting and focus on getting the ball straight.

  • A long step forwards the weight beginning on their back foot, then they will shift their weight to the front foot.
  • After this movement, they will pull the stick straight towards their intended target.
  • It is important that they do not rotate until the ball has left the stick.
