Exercise 1 - Scooping into space:
Here the children will scoop the ball into space and this player will collect the ball and drive into the circle and score, the exercise is very simple so that the focus can be on scooping.
(For scooping the ball should be in front of the feet and there should be no movement of the feet while scooping, leaning on the right leg will increase the height that the ball goes)
Exercise 2 - Hitting the ball as a pass:
This is a very underrated skill and the KNHB are really trying to teach this in the youth, the players by the double cones will drive around the singular cone then hit the ball to the other side then run after their ball. This is repeated on both sides during the exercise and if possible to be done with two balls at the same time.
(The main focus for hitting is that the backwards and forwards motion of the stick is in one line before and after the connection with the ball)
Exercise 3 - Backhand sweeping:
Here the players will pass the ball with a backhand sweep (flats) as shown in the diagram, they will run after their ball once they have passed.
(With backhand sweeping it is important that the power comes from the rotation of the hips and not the rotation of the wrists)
