Defending the baseline-3v3

DESCRIPTION

Circle entry via the baseline should be restricted. Attackers will try enter the circle using the baseline. Defenders are to protect the D as well as defend the baseline in ensuring entry is restricted.

 

Exercise should be performed in the 23 yard area. Area of exercise should in the outside channel, marked off with beacons from 23 yard line to the PC injection line

COACHING POINTS

  • 3v3 in the exercise area with 2 attacking and 2 defending players in the D
  • Players in the D are only to engage once the D is entered or possession is overturned.
  • Defenders are to clear the 23-yard area through the gates set on the 23 yard
  • Attackers are to attempt scoring a goal once they have enterd the circle.
  • Rebounds are to be converted or cleared. 
  • Players are to protect their feet and margainalise the attackers space in the 23 yard area
  • Attackers to be channeled towards the line and put in a pocket
  • Drill is to be carried out for 10 min on each side of the field
