With all the roles it is important to keep in mind:

Role 1 – Ball carrier

  • Responsible for keeping possession by passing or dribbling in order to facilitate a pass
  • Essential requirements

[if !supportLists]o [endif]Sound decision making

Role 2 – Close support player (one pass away)

  • Responsible for repositioning to provide a distinct passing option for the ball carrier
  • Positioning is based on the needs of the ball carrier and the other close support players in the area
  • Essential requirements

[if !supportLists]o [endif]Communication (verbal and non-verbal) with ball carrier and other close support players

Role 3 – Far support player (two or more passes away)
