- players are split into 4 teams
- additional 2-4 players placed in 5th team (defenders - Black)
- players in each team number themselves (depends no. of each team)
- each team is allocated a corner of the pitch which is where they start game from
- everyone must start outside pitch
- marked area in middle of pitch contains hockey balls
- number is shouted out & players allocated that number run into the middle of the pitch, collect a ball & take it back to corner
- other members remain outside playing area
- defending players attempt to retrieve balls from corners & place back in middle
- team with most balls in corner at end of game wins
Alternative: tennis balls/hockey sticks to dribble with balls to corners; multiple numbers called; change number of defenders; change size of pitch
