I coach a u10s rugby league team i have 1 or 2 lads that don't like tackling which drills are best to get the best out of them.
I just started coaching an u/10's mod league team this year, my first ever coaching attempt. We played a trial a few weeks ago and won 32 to 14, yesterday they played their first round against a much larger pack than themselves and lost 46 to 6. We have some good talent and some not so good talent in our team. When they played yesterday the good talent hogged and dominated the plays and barely gave the not so talented a run.(Unfair) They didn't listen to the instructions I gave my trainers during the game and argued all throughout. How do I, 1 Stop the Hogs being Hogs? 2 Stop them arguing with each other on field and 3 Make them listen to my instruction through the trainers? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,Just wanted some ideas on drills for Under 8's to teach defence. For example we set all kids up in a line but as soon as the other team play the ball all kids run up and try to tackle. It is great enthusiasm shown by the kids however they are unable to reset into a line which means as soon as the other team plays the ball there is big open gap that they other team can get through.

When players are coming of their line and shifting to close or hanging around the ruck (eg. dummy half and first receiver) making it difficult to move forward and first receiver second guessing who to pass the ball too, resulting in huge gaps in the line or on the wing which is not good when offensive turns to defensive. What a fantastic tool. The Chalkboard and session tools make an unbelievable difference in making training plans in both time and organization. I will be instructing all of my assistant coaches that this tool must be used for all sessions during the season, so that we may build a club coaching resource library.
