how to get a 6ft+ player low in tackles
Smudge
There is no simple fix here - big guys have to get as low as they can before they make a tackle so they can drive from low to high.
One trick which may help is to get tall players to touch the ground with both hands before they make a tackle in practise. This helps them get used to dipping down and driving up.
On the other hand, if you have a big guy who is successful at making smother tackles don't coach it out of him completely but do let him have other options.

Why not get him to move into a tackle under a pole, a little like limbo in reverse. He would have to bend his legs and be in a strong tackling position.
Get him to lower his body height by bending from anckles, knees and hips. by sinking his back this way he will reduce his body height to around 5' 6". Make him stay on his balls of the feet and touch the groung at least with one hand and chinup. Viper From Sri Lanka
