My team have a problem scoring tries. They create chances but still can't score. How do I rectify that?
Try capturing a little video of your team inside the oppositions 22, whatâs happening when they get in there? Donât worry about videoing the rest of the match - focus on the problem area. As you know there might be all kinds of problems preventing the players from crossing the line, but the fact is â if they can make it into the oppositions 22, they can cross the try line. I suggest you use the video to identify problems, design your coaching sessions to address those problems â but importantly setup game situations in training, which give your players the opportunity to transfer what they have done in training into a game situation. Itâs hard to give you more detail without more information, but as a general rule â itâs vital that players remain patient in attack, while maintaining controlled urgency. I hope that makes some sense!
