Hi, I am a new coach to field hockey and would like any drills or tips to train a new team shape. I am also interested in training 3/4 and 1/2 pitch presses, any tips??
Cheers.
Here is a simple drill you can use to coach your team positioning around the pitch in relation to where the ball is you easily spend 30 - 60 miniutes on this. If you give me a bit more info in your team i.e. level are they strong or weak for the league hey will be playing in. 1st or 2nd team or club generally. I will then try to give you some guidance on the introducing of the various skills and tactics with your team. Bram
