Hi there. I'm looking for some ideas on activities to maintain fitness. I have been doing intervals with my team for the last few weeks but want to change it up to keep it interesting while achieving the same result. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!
Hi Shayne,
I like to get my team performing circuits. This is a great way of incorporating both fitness and strength training.
I usually get the team to pair up and whilst one works for 1 minute the other rests. I will usually have around 6-8 stations, meaning they are working at a very high intensity for a short period. Give them an equal rest to work ratio when they have completed the circuit and have them do the circuit 3 times. This means they only work for a total of 20 minutes but the intensity should be so high that 20 minutes is sufficient.
Stations I use:
Burpees/ jumping jacks
Squats
Lunges
Push-ups
Knee taps - neither get a rest during this period as this is a two player exercise (see attached drill)
Shuttle runs
Hope this gives you a bit more inspiration! Let me know how you get on!
