Rugby Drill Demonstration

Description

  • 1v1 scrumage 
  • both players get into a scrum postion.
  • However do not lock hea dand shoulders, ut arms out infront of you and with your hands push against the other player shsoulders.

Coaching points

Work on the tower or power

  • Head up, eyes forward 
  • Hip and knees 90 degrees
  • Shins parallell to the floor 
  • Line of back parallel to floor. 

Feet 

  • Shoulder width - weight forward 
  • On toes. 

Knees 

  • 90 degrees 

Core 

  • Imaine someone pullling string through your belly button.
  • Squeeze in an ddown. 

Hips 

  • Peliv tilited outwards. 
  • Hips backwards 
  • Like sitting down.

Elbows 

  • Tight to body
  • T rex arms 

Scaps 

  • Back and together
  • Holding pencil between the scaps. 

Chest 

  • Up and out 

Head 

  • Neautral 
  • Look through eyebrows.
