DESCRIPTION

  1. 10 moves forward carrying the ball.
  2. 12 moves forward and in.
  3. 11 loops around the back of 12.
  4. 10 passes to 12.
  5. 12 moves forward, and passes to 11.
  6. 13/14 provide support and additional passing options.

COACHING POINTS

  • Think about using cones to mark out starting and target points.
  • Allow players to cancel, but if they do cancel, what are their options?
  • Run this unopposed, before gradually adding in opposition.
  • Execute the pass from 12 to 11 as close to the defensive line as possible.
  • Think about player foot-speed, do the players need to be running flat out all the time?
  • Good communication is essential, and timing is a key target.
