Hockey: Passing with 2 players in a square

Players have to pass the ball around the outside of the square with only 3 players. To make this possible, the player after the pass has to move to the empty corner (any direction).

Starting on the halfway line, player A dribbles towards the 'defender' (the first line of cones). Player A must use the pull-back and pass diagonally to Player B. Player B receives the pass, arcs around the cones and passes diagonally to Player C. Player C receives the pass, arcs around the cones and passes back to Player D on the halfway line. Continue the pass and move in this way until players have returned to their starting positions.

The blue team position themselves tactically around the area. Players with the ball make a pass to one of the static players, looking to then receive the ball back again and then pass to the next static player.

Split your group in half. The white team each has a ball. The blue team position themselves evenly around the coned area and remain static. The white players make a pass to one of the static players but are not allowed to receive the ball from the same player so they must move around the grid to find a new ball. On receiving a different ball, they then carry the ball and look for a new player to make the next pass to

The player without the ball (player 2) runs towards the opposite cone and communicates to their partner that they are ready to receive the ball. After making the straight pass player 1 runs to the opposite cone to receive a square pass from player 2. Player 2 must adjust their body and footwork in order to receive the ball.

2 players pass the ball at each other through the channel. The interceptor has to stand outside the channel and try to stop the ball. When the player intercepts the ball they swap with the player that lost the ball.

The player in the middle passes the ball to the outside player and then runs through the centre to the other side of the cones, looking to receive the ball back. Once they've received the return pass they then do the same thing on the way back on the other side.

3 players outside the D have to pass the ball between them to try and create an opening for one of the wide players to have a shot. A defender in the D has to try and stop the 3 having a shot.

Start with red pass to White. Then red player runs and receives ball from Blue then Blue runs to receive from white white runs to receive from red. Player after having shot the ball join the queue that they received the ball from.

Set up 2 goals 5 metre wide and 10 m apart 2 player passing the ball to each others reverse stick side pull the ball to the forehand to pass to the back

3 player pass the ball around in a triangle to the reverse stick side to then pull the ball back round to pass the ball with the forhand.

1. In the first stage players work in pairs, passing the ball back and forth across the grid. 2. In the second stage after having passed the ball to their partner players must then move across the grid to another position to receive the ball. 3. Finally in the third zone players get into groups of 3 and pass the ball around the corners of the grid - always making sure that each time a player receives the ball they are supported on the corners on both sides.

Split the group into two. Player 1 dribbles up to the cone before passing the ball across to player 2. Players have to make sure that they give a pass in each box.

2 players, 1 ball. Each player should stand 1m behind the gate. Player 1 passes the ball to Player 2. Player 2 controls the ball around the gate and then passes to Player 1 who has moved into position. Progression Go the other way around, passing clockwise around the gate.

Players in pairs run along the length of one side and pass the ball from left to right by pulling the ball back and moving their feet around the ball to pass with the forehand.

Player 1 runs around the cone and receives the ball from the opposite wing (2). After receiving the ball, player 1 plays a DOUBLE wall pass with one of the forwards (3) and takes their position whilst this player goes off to score. Then the player that started the practice runs around the cone and the whole passing sequence follows again.

Passing ball around the outside of the cones. While another team is running a relay around the outside square. How many passes can the passing team do in the time the relay team does 8 runs. Then vice-versa.

The inside team (white) pass the ball around the outside of the small square. At the same time the blue team on the large square are running a relay around the the outside square.

Players in pairs run along the length of one side and pass the ball from right to left on the move to the other player. The player receiving the ball must do so with their reverse stick, before then pulling the ball round and running back to the cone they started from to pass the ball right to left back to the other player.

Player 1 starts dribbling the first ball across the square, in the middle they pass (push) the ball to player 2 and carry on running across. Players 3 and 4 do similar. Players pass to the left and the right. Designed to practice pass camouflage.
