DESCRIPTION

Two teams of 5 players plus a scrum half face each other in a line out type formation Coach points ball in a direction---that team becomes attack and retreats 5m to form a back line. Other team retreats 5m to form a defensive line Scum half puts ball in, lets attack go for 3 phases IF HIGH NUMBERS, attackers go to defense, defense off the grid, new attacking team comes on. Otherwise alternate/randomize team that attacks PROGRESSION: Coach calls out specific defenders (e.g., "1,2, 5 OUT!") and defense must adjust to fill holes

COACHING POINTS

Make sure holes are properly covered to eliminate gaps in defense Coach to drift when short numbers, blitz with advantage of numbers. Add SHOOTER on defense Make sure defenders are covering A-A-B-B gaps and folding in to proper side
