Players will play first to 10 in the service boxes, hitting cross court and will only be allowed to hit shots back on their forehand side. This will help to develop their control, coordination and forehand stroke. If players are struggling, they will be able to take an extra touch to control the ball before they hit the shot, this helps to keep rallies and consistency going.
This drill is designed to allow you to assess the techincal ability of the players quickly. It also allows for differentiation and with being so close to the players, it allows you to correct small technical faults quickly without interupting the session.
Ensure that you are fast paced and continue to re-enforce the coaching points.
Forehand:
A good demonstration before the drill commences is essential.
Save yourself a scare this Halloween and ensure your session runs smoothly. No chaos, no fright, just structure.
