Drill 1/ Warm up in twos start 5yrds apart - one touch pass stick to stick as quickly as possible for 10
Then each take a big step back - once again pass stick to stick as quickly as possibe for 10
Then each take a big step back - and repeat - By now you will have to adust how hard you need to hit the ball to make the distance. for 5
Then each take a big step back and repeat - make sure passes are accurate stick to stick for 5.
Drill 2/ in groups of 3 about 10yrd apart : Player 1 hits to player 2 who leads forward to recieve ball. Player 2 then passes to player 3 who leads forward to recieve. (after each pass follow ball to behind recéiving player) repeat for 10.
Drill 3/ Game like drill - Players 1 pass to 2 who leads forward to receive then dribbles balls through hats using ball control skills (Change speed + direction, drag back and jink) Then once clear of hats pass back to 1 who leads forward to recieve then pass back to 2 who control enters circle to shoot for goal
One then becomes 2
1st Point of session is the passing over distance - we are trying to get them to learn the art of how hard or soft the pass must be over differant distances.
2nd Point is do not wait for pass to come to you - lead to the ball to recive on the run control and pass back.
3rd point of session is revision of ball control skills and incorporate passing to finish off.
Variations: A/ add defender - who starts on back line once 1 pass back to 2 for final pass to circle defender moves in to stop shot on goal.
Variation B/ add player 1 to link up with player 2 to create 2 vs 1
Variation C/ add extra defender to shadow player 1 to creat 2vs 2
