tell me about the half press and what condions i can use it?
Half press is used best for two different situations. The first one is when you have many players back in defence and your team makes a long hit out of defence down to the other end of the field. Best to have your team set up the half press so that your team is not stretched out by your strikers moving up the field and then your defenders becoming detached from the strikers giving the opposition lots of space. The second time that is best to use the half press is when your strikers are tired from doing lots of running and full pressing. Having them come back to a half press gives them time to rest and compresses the oppositionâs midfield making it harder for them to come through and attack. Forces them to pass wide and then press them on the sideline around the halfway. When half pressing, it is really important for your defenders to be playing in front of the opposition. This will force mistakes and your team will get lots of intercepts. The trick is that once you get the turn over that you strikers move up the field and stretch out their defence.
