Which stick brand is your favourite? How's Malik? I'm looking for a new stick
Got to take a look at the new Woodworm range, new limited edition Megabite has just been snapped up by 5 national prem players in the UK including top international goal scorer Tina Cullen. Also do low/mid bows from same mould as usual sticks but half the price, check out woodworm hockey website pal
talking of Woodworm, I saw a opponent playing with one at our indoor games. Thanks for the mail but I only want trusted brands, which would you choose, Malik, Voodoo or Princess (less expensive Princess range)??
I absolutely love Malik sticks. I find that the head and shaft of the stick are thinner then other brands, whilst this doesn't take away power I find that it does allow for faster skills. I can't say that I have used a Princess and only tried a friends voodoo, but I know that my Malik is the best stick I've used (after previously using Mazons and Kookaburras). I think it would best suit someone wanting a stick for quick skills and they seem to last awhile. Anything Aymar uses I am a fan of!
know where and how all these sticks are made ( a few mates and I set up our own stick company to make a few £ when we were students) and found you are really only paying for a "brand" as you say, all made in the samre few factories, just have different graphics and the odd % difference in carbon/kevlar/FG, before Woodworm I always used Grays, really happy with them, tried adidas and malik but always went back to grays, The megabite and bite are closest thing to malik but half the price, as I say full internationals are snapping up our new sticks and are ditching malik/adidas/grays sponsorships to come to us which says it all!
in more ways than one
The best hockey players in the world do not just react faster; they scan more frequently and process information before the ball arrives. This article explores the science behind scanning, how to coach spatial awareness as a habit, and practical drills that force players to lift their heads and read the game.
In hockey, you can only score from inside the circle. Getting the ball into the D with purpose and creating genuine shooting chances is the hardest part of attack. This article examines the different types of circle entry, why entry angle determines shot quality, and how to train your team to penetrate the most congested area on the pitch.
The best teams don't just press - they press at the right moment. Here's how to train your players to read the cues.
