How to be the best captain for your team?
Hi Kate,
A captain should play to their personal strengths. If you are a fiesty character on the pitch, use this to motivate the team during team talks. If you are slightly quieter, you may be better by leading by your skill on the pitch. Players will see your desire to play and feed off of this. Make sure you do what feels comfortable!
Also, realising that all players are different is very important. Some will need an arm round the shoulder while others needs a stern talking to. Try and get a strong understanding of your players and your individual captaining skills will improve tenfold.
Hope this helps,
Josh
