How do I plan a session on recognising and escaping congestion?

How do I plan a session on recognising and escaping congestion?

I want to involve some drills that isolate the escaping drill (recognising a threat and turning away to keep possession) and incorporate into a game situation.

Hi Thomas,

A great drill to use is the 4 goal game. In this drill the team in possession should focus on scoring in the goal which is easiest to score in and therefore looking to turn away from the overcrowded goal and keep possession. You can change the number of players or goals to increase the intensity and difficulty of keeping possession.

4 Goal Game

DESCRIPTION
Game with 4 goals - where each team has two goals in which they can score. Make sure that the distance between the 2 goals encourages the player to change the point of attack.
