I am preparing a team of boys for a six-a-side outdoor tournament. Any advice on a good training programme and the core skills to be worked on? Suggestions on set pieces and team formation would be helpful indeed.
3-2-1 formation is the best when you are in possetion of the ball and 2-3-1 will be the best if the other team has the ball. It is best to ALWAYS have 1 player in the backline. In attack, put 3 players infront, and keep 2 in your midfield. In defence, move 1 of the forwards to the midfield to keep the heart of the field well protected. In training, focus on the speed of your players, and passing and stoping of the bal. Set pieces isn't hard in 6-a-side tournaments. Goodluck with your tournament
