Help! My daughter volunteered me to supervise her dome field hockey team. Please tell me how to send girls off and on the field so they get equal playing time? There are tow 21 minute halfs and 13 girls on the team not counting the goalkeeper.
Hi Suzie,
People might disagree about this but here's my opinion:
First of all you should find out where each member of the team plays and hopefully/Ideally your subs will be a midfield and forward player (they usually are) if this is the case then you should rotate them as follows...
Midfield players rotate every 7mins: these should be the players that do a lot of running around helping the defence and the attack on all plays.
Forward players rotate every 10mins 30sec: helping the midfield as much as they can but not necessarily defending their 25yard area as much.
The rotation allows fresh legs to keep the midfield playing at strength and also the forwards... if it so happens that you have a defensive player who is a sub then I would do the rotation the same as the forward players at 10mins 30secs I think this would be the fairest way of doing it and also allow the team to have fresh players at key positions on the field. This also doesn't disrupt the key areas at the same time by bringing on fresh players on the field at the same time.
Hope that helps
how to play left off ...any one can u help me........
