Formation at tactics for playing with no goalie

Formation at tactics for playing with no goalie

I'm new to coaching, I have played at a high level for over 10 years. The team I'm coaching often has no goalie but has enough players. Looking for the best formation to play a full game with no goalie, we usually play a 3-4-3.

Hi Craig,

We would probably go with a 4-4-3. We'd recommend a back 4, so you can have one slightly deeper centre back who will act as a sweeper. Then the other centre back can play slightly higher and get involved in the play slightly more. The sweeper will act as a last man and can clean up anyone's errors.

The key would be not letting the opponents into the D as they will have a good chance to score shooting at a goal with no goalie

Hope this helps.
