Has anyone got good drills/practices for Under 12s. I have a very large group of kids and looking for drills that work with large numbers?
Hi Megan,
This kind of depends on how many players you have. However, with large groups, I like to break the group into smaller, more manageable groups and setting up drills that focus on different aspects. For example, a shooting drill at one end of the field, a passing drill in the middle and an out-letting drill the other end.
The only issue with this is, it's tough to keep tabs on each group, therefore would recommend making the drills as simple as possible so your under-12s are able to understand without you having to talk them through the whole time.
Therefore, one game I enjoy playing with younger players and one they get a lot from is the drill attached below. It's great for getting kids involved, especially with big groups as it is intense yet provides rest for groups whilst others are playing.
I hope this helps!
