What are the best conditioning skills to practice with a junior high team? (12-14 yrs) We are limited the first few days to indoor practices in a small space. They are not in shape, so we are starting from scratch. Our first game is in 3 1/2 weeks.
Hi Michelle,
When you start from scratch it is important not to do condition and skills at the same time, I would start with simple low intense drils to improve there skill level (passing, receiving, dribbling) and then some condition wihtout a stick, just running, a good running drill where you don't need mutch see diagram. let them run up and down (the first player start and runs to the other side, tacs the player on the other side and so on and so on) for 1 min rest for 1 min and do this 5 - 10 times. when they improve, you can increase the running time by 30 sec (1.5min,2min .....) and let the rest time the same.
good luck
Victor
