Can some explain how the Steal the Bacon drill works. I don't see it in the list of drills
Group players into teams of 3. One team on the 25 yard line and the other on the 50 yard line. Place the ball in the middle of the two teams. Two cones are placed on the 25 yard line and the 50 yard line about 10 yards apart. On the whistle the two teams race to the ball the first team to retrieve it is on offense the other on defense. Try and score between opposing teams cones. I added that each team had to pass 3 times before scoring. This way teamwork was involved.
Another version of this drill is to make a grid any size. Just have two goals on the ends. I split my team up and assign everyone random numbers, then i call out numbers and roll and ball in the playing area. Those girls run out to the ball and fight to score. You can then call multiple numbers..for example, 1's and 3's...then if theyre on the same team they work together. Also you can use the "pass 3 times" thing or if you are not using goalies, make the scoring goal small and have the girls dribble between the cones to score a point....or make a a pass through the cones to score a point. (when calling multiple numbers.
