Improve Aerial Passes

Improve Aerial Passes

I have been working hard on improving my Arial but I cannot get the power behind it. Are there specific training exercises I should do to strengthen the key muscles involved or is it a case of repetition till it advances. TIA

Hi Rebecca,

Strength would help but I would say it's more to do with fine tuning the technique of the aerial. So rather than strength work, I would do more repetition training, really focusing on the timing of the movement and trajectory. Also watching videos and trying to replicate the technique of a good aerial pass will help.

Lunges are a very good place to start when trying to improve your power with aerials and drag flicks as well. Would suggest using resistance bands if you have them to improve core muscles
