DESCRIPTION

Divide the court into 3 equal areas with a line across the length of the court. (6m x 9m) 8 player per small court

Start the game with an underarm serve, and the opposition has to catch the ball and throw it back first time with one of the typical volleyball throws.

The player who drops, throws the ball out side the court or in to the net has to leave the court. If the team catches the ball 3 times in a row, one of the players on the side can join back in. A point is scored when the opposition has no players left.

Rally Drill

ORGANISATION:
Divide the volleyball court into 3 parts with 8 players per area and 2 teams of 4.

TASK:
Start the game/rally with an underhand serve where the ball hits the ground. If too close to the net, take 2 steps back. Pass the ball over the net in one go with:
- 2 outsrectched arms
- 1 overhand
- 1 underhand

For each team of 4, the rules are:
If you throw the ball across the net, everyone rotates clockwise. If a player drops the ball/throws the ball out of play or into the net, they leave the court. When the ball is caught in the next rally three times in a row the player returns. When the court is empty the other team gets a point.

Throw the ball over the net so the other person can catch the ball. Try with 2 hands under arm, over ahead and with one foot in front of the other (like serving under arm).

Try 1 hand over head, left foot forward for right handed players
left foot forward for left handed players.

Try with straight arm over head.

Get up, Run and Pass

Players start this drill on the back line in a press-up position looking at the coach.

When the coach self feeds the ball players should get up to their feet and move forward to pass the ball back to the coach before it bounces.

After passing the ball back players should run around the cones on the outside of the court and then join the back of the line.

Team Passing

Divide the court into 3 equal areas with a line across the length of the court. (6m x 9m) 8 player per small court Throw the ball across the net first time under arm with straight arms or 1 arm overhead. For every team, after the ball is thrown the team rotates clockwise one turn. Every time the ball is dropped the player that drops the ball has to leave the field. First team to lose all players loses the point.

Zone 1

Player 1 starts by serving from the base line and then enters the court. He/she then runs into the correct zone (zone 1), where player 2 (standing in zone 4) hits the ball to him/her around waist high. Player 1 then has to dig up the ball, and return it to player 2 as if setting up a spike. Player 1 then returns to their zone, where player 3 (from zone 2) hits the ball to them short in the middle of court. Player 1 then has to dig up the ball back to player 3. Player 1 then returns back to their zone and steps two to three are repeated.
