COACHING POINTS

There are many things that we can't control like score, opponent's game or even our strokes. That is why it is important to pay attention to areas that we have full control over. These are footwork and mental skills. Taking care of these two areas will always make us perform on a decent level even while having a bad day.

In this drill, the player works on strategy that should be applied when backhand is not working. If backhand is our weakest part during the match it is smart to start moving more and hit mostly forehand shots. This strategy will not only reduce our unforced errors but it will always force the opponent to hit more risky shots closer to the sideline to make us hit backhand stroke. We have to remember that one weak part of our game doesn't decide about the final score - it is our ability or disability to adapt to new situation that counts.
