DESCRIPTION

  • Coach feeds balls to the deuce side.
  • Player hits 4 balls aiming at 4 different zones.
  • Player hits deep cross-court, deep down the line, short cross-court and short down the line.

COACHING POINTS

In this drill player works on ability to hit balls with different depths. Being able to control shots in 4 zones gives opportunity to move opponent around the court and expect to get easier ball to finish the point. Coach should ask players for necessary technical changes between deep and short balls and see if they understand these requirements. To make this exercise more difficult coach can change difficulty of own feeding or add recovery positions on the court.
