Rugby: One Handed Offloads

Sportplan rugby has played a large role in my team's love for the...
Heather, Rugby Coach

DESCRIPTION

  • Players work in groups of three, each starting with a ball.
  • They move the ball around the circle making one handed offloads to eachother

Progression

  • Players stand further apart

COACHING POINTS

  • Players should keep both hands in a catch ready position. Like in a game how they should always be expecting the ball.

  • When standing close together players should just lift the ball up softly, making it easy for their team mate.

  • When standing further apart players need to really push the pass. Not swinging the ball too much otherwise it risks the going in any direction.

  • Players should always keep their eyes on the ball or where they are passing to.
