DESCRIPTION

Set up a large square with a cone in each corner. Three attacking players start along one side of the square with two defenders in the middle. You can increase the number of attackers or defenders as you wish. Attacker always try to attack across the square. Once the attackers reach the other side of the square they pop the ball to the attackers on the side of the square and not in front of them.

COACHING POINTS

  • Attackers look for where space is and attack it quickly
  • No hanging around as soon as you get the ball attack, if space in front of you run into it
  • Attackers may have to move off the ball round the square to ensure their are numbers to the side of the attacking group not opposite them
  • Players get used to chaos in attack
  • Player must make fast decision
  • Players must use eyes to not only see where space in but where attackers are needed
