Rugby Drill Demonstration

Description

  • Player A (Blue) starts with the ball, and Player B (Red) defends.
  • Both players start at the corner of the 15 meter grid with their backs to each other.
  • At the same time both players head out around opposite cones.
  • Player A has to try and beat the defender and score over the try line.
  • Player A can either grubber, chip, or dummy to score.

    Coaching points

  • Defenders should observe attacker while running around in order to judge
    pace correctly.
  • Don?t over-commit as defender.
  • Use touchline as extra defender.
