This session will develop your player?s technique and ability when hitting the ball at different depths, providing them with variation in matches. Outwit their opposition by producing an unexpected change of depth, developing your player?s tactical decisions to hit the correct shot at the right time. Encourage them to change up their depth and direction, and see their opposition stunned!
What?s in the Session?
We start off with adding some balance and coordination work into your player?s warm-up, using a skipping rope to hop one-legged around the court. We then take through a number of drills to get them used to hitting at different lengths, whether that?d be hitting the short volley or the inside-out forehand out wide. Work both your player?s backhand and forehand, emphasising the need for correct footwork and positioning before they execute each drill. By completing these different drills, develop your player?s decision making to make the right length at the correct time - it could be the difference between victory and defeat!
