Thanks for everything! Sportplan has helped me to improve my tennis...
Andrea, Tennis coach

DESCRIPTION

The coach kneels down on the player's side. Players serves to the T from deuce side, and the coach throws first ball to the deuce side. The player hits forehand down the line and the coach feeds second ball to the ad side. The player runs around and hits forehand inside out.

COACHING POINTS

Eliminating opponent's strengths and using own strong skills is a complete formula to become a really effective tennis player. It takes a lot of hours of practice as also a good portion of patience to develop habits and use them consistently during the match. Many players try to finish the point too early and that is why they missing a lot of balls. Having a strategy and believing in it is a much better solution that is visible among champions of grand slam tournaments.

In this drill, the player works on the pattern using serve to the T and forehand skills. This pattern utilizes own strength (forehand) and opponent's weakness (backhand) to win the point. Placing all balls to the ad side is a strategy to put the opponent into an uncomfortable position and force them to take more risk with his weaker shot.
