Effectively trying to get the ball out of the back through the right half when the transfer has been blocked

Goal is to get the ball over the half way line

COACHING POINTS

The attacking team should attempt to break the press by moving up and down the pitch, dragging the defenders with them.

Attackers should utilise the overload to create space

Support and Swap

The team with the ball must try and keep possession of the ball. Only 2 players from each team are allowed to be inside the area.

1 player can move anywhere on the outside of the area. To involve this player, the players inside the area have to pass the ball to the outside player.

On doing so, the outside player can come into the area and the player that passed the ball becomes the new outside player.

Passing through a line of defence

Create 2 end zones either side of a line. 2 players are in each end zone and 2 defenders on the line.

The players in the end zones can pass the ball to each other laterally but the aim is to try and pass the ball from one end zone to the other, without the ball being intercepted by the defenders who can only defend on the line.

See how many passes the teams can score against the defenders.

When the defenders have intercepted the ball 3 times the players who played the last pass change over and become the defenders.

Move Along the Line

4 players have to keep possession against 2 defenders with the restriction that the players in possession can only move on the line they are on. Swap players in the middle when they have taken the ball 5x.

8 Players with 1 ball.

4 players on the outside are always on the side of the 2 players in possession of the ball.

The 2 other players are trying to gain possession. The players on the outside have to stay there and are only allowed to wall pass the ball each time. First team to make 10 passes wins.

Numbers Intercept

Teams of 3 - 4 players. Each team numbers themselves 1-2-3-4 and has one ball. The ball should be passed around the team in numerical order whilst moving around the set area. When the player has passed the ball, he/she can try and intercept the ball from one of the other teams (no tackling). First team to pass the ball 12 times is the winner.

Set out grids 5 by 5 m. For the practice 1 player on each corner with 1 ball between 4. Player passes ball clock wise and after pass moves to touch the cone in the middle of the square and back out again.

Triple Possession Game - 6 against 3

Split your players up into 3 equal teams of 3 or 2. 2 teams combine (Blue and Yellow in this case) to keep possession while the red work hard to make the interception. When the defending team win the ball/make the interception the team that lost the ball must now defend and the team that was defending (red) now combine with the other team to keep possession in a 6v3 game.
