DESCRIPTION

Setup as shown.

Player 2 runs diagonally from the right to the left hand goal, drawing the defender. The player then drags the ball across them from left to right before passing to the supporting player (Player 1).

COACHING POINTS

Player with the ball makes a positive run on an angle to eliminate the defender
as in 1 v 1

Player without the ball(support player) runs into space to receive a pass and
Communicates they are ready to receive the pass

If the support player is on defenderÂs open stick side the pass will be square or back

The attackers are more likely to succeed if they keep well apart making it difficult for the defender

Dribble or pass? 2 vs 1:

Players work in threes in this drill, 2 attackers trying to get past the single defender and score in one of the two goals.

The white player starts with the ball and dribbles towards the defender where they are presented with two options: They can either pass to the supporting player or take the ball themselves to go and score in one of the two corner goals.

Beat a player relay:

Setup as shown.

Player 1 passes the ball to player 2 who dribbles the ball into the box before dribbling out of one of the side of the box. Player 1 then passes the ball back to player 4 for the practice to start again.

Attacker 1 passes to attacker 2 in stride. Attacker 2 tries to beat defender 1 in the box and crosses to attacker 3 in the circle.
rotate defenders should stay in position for 10 attacks the attckers take up the next position each time.

1 v 1 two channel:

The player with the ball starts on the half way line and has to try and go through the area with the defender in and have a shot at goal. The defender is only allowed to defend in the coned area.

Tip: alter size of zone to increase/decrease
