DESCRIPTION

Coaches Objective:

To teach the attacker to eliminate the defender at pace by taking advantage of the space behind them.

Purpose:

The purpose is to get on the goal-side of your opponent as fast as possible by lifting the ball to the defenders reverse stick side and collect it the other side, taking advantage of space to attack at speed.  

COACHING POINTS

  1. Angle of the drive should be to the defernder's open stick to encourage them to position themselves on their open stick side. 
  2. Open the face of the stick to push the ball down the defenders left foot. 
  3. Accelerate around the defender to regain possession. 
  4. Accelerate away.

2v1 Gauntlet:

- 2 on 1  gauntlet elimination
- Mark areas out on the pitch
- Place desired numbers of defenders across the gauntlet

Commit Then Pass | Eliminating a Player

Commit Then Pass:

  • Setup as shown.

    • Player 2 runs diagonally from the right to the left hand goal, drawing the defender. The player then drags the ball across them from left to right before passing to the supporting player (Player 1).

    defence in box down right:

    Attacker 1 passes to attacker 2 in stride. Attacker 2 tries to beat defender 1 in the box and crosses to attacker 3 in the circle.
    rotate defenders should stay in position for 10 attacks the attckers take up the next position each time.

    Disguised upright passing | Passing & Receiving

    Disguised upright passing:

    - Two lines of players
    - Use a disguised push pass to manoeuvre around the cones
    - Pass should be played at 90 degrees
