Hockey: Round the Back

DESCRIPTION

Play 5 vs 5 or 6 vs 6 with goals facing to the side line (can also be played with one goal positioned on the top of the circle turned to the back line and the other goal 15 metres inside the half way line facing away from the other goal).

Teams try to score a goal, encouraging players to go deep.

COACHING POINTS

Players running ahead of the ball to try and receive the ball should run at least 10m beyond the goal to create the space to score.

Keep players deep, Keep lines free, Spread out fast as your team gains possession.
